I don’t know if you realize how much you mean to me. You see, writing is a solitary affair. We sit, for hours upon hours, year after year, pouring out the imaginings in our minds and our hearts and hope that one day, someone will read what we wrote and connect to it—feel something, see something, dream something.

And when that magical day comes, it’s like winning the writing lottery. All that hard work—all those sacrifices of telling everyone in your life no so that you can shut yourself in your room behind your laptop and write, alone—finally pays off.

This day comes for me – this writing lotto winning moment – every time a reader emails me, reviews my book, or rates my book. One little positive word from a reader can make my day like nothing else in the world.

So I wanted to take a moment to thank all you readers—everyone that has read my books, everyone that has rated and reviewed my books, and the cherished readers that have emailed me about my books. You are the smile on my lips and the song in my heart. You mean the world to me and I just wanted to let you know.

Gratefully yours,

Mande Matthews
