  1. Thank you so much for the lovely gift of your short story, I so enjoyed it.
Merry Christmas and Happy New Years to you and your Family.

    1. Thank you for stopping by to let me know, Charlotte! I’m so happy you enjoyed it and wishing you and yours the best this holiday season!

  2. Thank you for allowing me to read your short story “Brothers’ Keepers”. After reading the Other Shadow Light Stories I was familiar with the language style and found it easy to follow. Once starting the story I liked how it constantly kept me wanting to see what would happen next. I was glad that these poor boys didn’t end up dead and that they found a new home where they could be themselves.

Also, I believe I found an error. “Ryvak froze at her approached,” maybe it was meant to be “Ryvak froze at her approach,” or “Ryvak froze as she approached,” anyway I thought I would bring it to your attention. I hope you don’t mind.

Again thank you for the story I enjoyed it.

    1. Hi Katelyn,
Sorry for the late reply! I’ve been fighting the flu. Thanks so much for your comments and your catch! I will fix it immediately! I really appreciate your time to bring it to my attention and glad you enjoyed the story.

  5. Thank you so much for allowing me to read this short story. I could not put it down until I finished it. I think people often tend to judge others before they get to know what is inside. I am so glad the brothers found a place where they belong and still be so devotedto oneanother , just like siblings should be. You are an amazing writer and an imagination that is.brilliant! Again, thanks for letting me read this short story. I look forward to reading Broken and will purchase it the day it is available to buy. (Sorry my words are jumbled my phone keeps freezing on me.)
    Gentry 🙂

    1. Hi Gentry,
Firstly, your name is very cool. I might have to steal it for a story someday! 😉 Secondly, thank you so much for reading and commenting on the story. It means a lot to me when readers respond and keeps me writing. I can’t tell you how much I appreciate your kind words. As for Broken–it’s so close! Just waiting for copy editing and proofing and it will be released. I’ll announce the release date as soon as I have a set date, and I will also email everyone on my newsletter list immediately. I appreciate your support! Thank YOU! And have a magical day. 😉

      1. Thank you & I would love for you to use my name in a book! You probably know this, but I wanted to share. A long long time ago fairies were called Gentry. So my days are always magical:) My mother named me Gentry Dawn & I love how unique it is. It fits me well. Thanks again! I look forward to more magical mystical journeys with you!

        1. Actually, I didn’t. I’m going to Google it when I have a moment, so thank you for the tidbit. How wonderful of your mom to name you such a thoughtful and original name. 😉 I have many many stories to write. Maybe someday you’ll pop up in one of them as I just LOVE that name…even more so with the backstory! 🙂

          1. It would truly be an honor! Look around the 1800’s. I grew up in the South in Mississippi. I would often write stories about fairies and mystical creatures to connect with my inner peace. My mother always wanted me and my siblings to be creative & use our imagination. I always found peace when writing about fairies. Which also inspired my son’s name- Lyric Rainn

          2. Oh, I love the name Lyric, too. I’ve loved that one for a long time. You obviously got your mother’s naming talent. 😉 Keep writing! It’s the most soul-connecting self discovery you can do (in my humble opinion!).

  6. I loved each and every shadowlight book and especially enjoyed this short story. It tugged at my heart strings and I’m so glad that they found a place where they will be happy and accepted for who they are. I will eagerly await your next book or short story.

    1. Dale,
Thank you so much for stopping by and sharing your thoughts. You have no idea how much it means to an author to know their work is being enjoyed. I appreciate how you’ve taken the time to post, and mostly, read all of the ShadowLight books so far. Thank you so much for your support.

  7. Thank you for that story. Those boys blessedly got what they deserved. Perhaps there is a heaven for me too.

    1. Hi Destiny! Thank you for reading and commenting on Brothers’ Keepers. The story was an important one for me for that reason. It was inspired from an NPR broadcast where two brothers made a suicide pact to escape their father. They couldn’t go through with it, but ended up in a life of crime. I wanted people to know, there’s always a better place and more options even though in that current moment, the options seem slim. Sometimes the world seems so cruel and hopeless. But there ARE pieces of heaven out there for us when we seek it. Keep looking. You’ll find yours, too.

  8. That was a really good short story – are we going to hear more of the brothers?

    1. Hi Carolyn,
Thank you for reading Brothers’ Keepers and for stopping by and letting me know. I am glad you asked, and actually, yes! I am planning on bringing the brothers back in a ShadowLight Side Adventure that works loosely into the overall ShadowLight trilogy plot line. Thanks again for reading. Have a magical day.

  9. What a nice story, I wanted it to last longer as I was enjoying it so much and it is true to life in this world.

    1. Thank you so much. I am so happy you enjoyed it. Thanks for your comments.

  10. Thank you ! I flew thru this story! Keep writi g.i love your style!
